About Me...

I was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Right after I was born my family moved to North Carolina. We lived there for a few years and then moved back before I started kindergarten. We lived in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland often refered to as "The Snow Belt." This is where I learned to love the Cleveland Browns.

After high school graduation, I attended Miami University. I participated in both football and track and field while I was there. I graduated from Miami with a degree in Elementary Education.

After college, I received a job working for Fairfield City Schools. I began teaching fifth grade Language Arts and Social Studies. I also began coaching eighth grade girls volleyball. From there I went onto to coach junior varsity boys volleyball. After my first year, the math teacher on the team retired and I took her position as a math teacher. From there I taught math for three years. During those years, I moved up in coaching from ninth grade football to junior varsity football and from junior varsity boys volleyball to becoming the head coach of the boys volleyball program. I also completed a masters degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University in May of 2005.

I moved to the Chicago area in 2005 to teach in Arlington Heights District 25.  My wife and I got married in July 2006 in Hawaii.  While in district 25 I was able to teach the advanced math groups for fifth grade.  I also received three teaching awards for my use of technology in the classroom this past school year.
